Junior HSE Engineer – Job Advertisement

Your responsibilities

• You ensure local HSE compliance through local law registration, regular compliance evaluations, and implementation of the annual compliance calendar.

• You deliver HSE services and functional support to Valmet FC China operations and the Jiaxing location.

• You coordinate and implement Global HSE processes and develop additional location‑specific HSE procedures.

• You manage internal and external HSE issues in the Jiaxing location and communicate with relevant stakeholders.

• You support plant safety management including risk assessments, JHA, machine safety, lifting safety, firefighting, special equipment and more.

• You lead regular plant HSE inspections and follow‑up corrections.

• You lead incident investigations, root cause analyses and corrective action implementation.

• You coordinate and perform internal and external HSE audits and inspections (ISO, sustainability, insurance, safety standardization).

• You maintain the Spotlights system and track TRI, safety observations, toolbox talks, safety walks and other indicators.

• You drive subcontractor HSE management and ensure effective implementation.

Expectations for you

• You hold a relevant academic degree.

• You have at least 3 years of HSE work experience.

• You have experience driving continuous improvement activities.

• You have excellent English proficiency; other languages are an advantage.

• You are familiar with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

• You understand local HSE legislation and standards.

• You are result‑driven and able to structure your own work.

• You have strong communication, teamwork and relationship‑building skills.

• You are proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams.
