The Service Depot Technician is responsible for providing high-quality in-house repair, maintenance and calibration activities on our Multimode Plate Reader platforms and test, repair and recertification of Multimode Validation plates. The successful candidate will be a results-driven individual with passion for customer satisfaction and who is excited to be part of a new team.  The candidate demonstrates excellent troubleshooting and meticulous documentation skills in an ISO 9001 environment. Interaction with cross-functional team members is essential, including Service, Product Development, Operations and the Customer.   

 

This position reports to the Service Manager Depot & Training and is part of the European Service team located in Salzburg; Austria and will be an on-site role.   

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Perform in-house repair, maintenance and calibration activities to agreed service levels on the Molecular Devices range of Multimode Plate Readers. Will include exposure to multiple disciplines including electrical, electronic, fluidics, mechanical and optical technologies. 

  • Documentation and administration of the functional processes and procedures relating to these duties, utilising CRM database. 

  • Maintain adequate service part stocking levels to support repair duties. 

 

The essential requirements of the job include: 

  • Basic level of education in electrical / electronics / mechatronics and proven, hands-on mechanical aptitude 

  • Excellent mechanical and systems troubleshooting skills and attention to detail, with high quality standards adopted at all times 

  • Test, troubleshoot, repair and recertify MultiMode Validation Plates following procedures and protocols. Operate and perform calibration on plate reader instruments following procedures and protocols. Meticulous documentation and verification of all test results. 

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:  

  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight, within territory or other Europe locations, as and when required by the business. 

  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 20kg. 

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

  • Working in a highly organised manner with ability to coordinate multiple priorities within demanding and tight timescales 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
