About the role
What we're looking for:
Proficiency in Node.js, Angular, NestJS, TypeScript, JavaScript and AWS CLI for building scalable and maintainable web applications.
Experience designing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support modern front-end architectures.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including ECS, EKS, Lambda, and cloud-native application deployment patterns.
Strong knowledge of front-end and end-to-end testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, Stryker Mutator, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.
Experience using Honeycomb or similar observability, monitoring, and diagnostic tools for application triage, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software engineering best practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD).
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, architecture decisions, and solution designs to non-technical stakeholders and business partners.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, UX Designers, QA Engineers, Architects, and DevOps team
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain responsive web applications using Angular, Node.JS, AWS CLI, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Integrate REST APIs and third-party UI libraries/services.
Translate business and technical requirements into scalable front-end solutions for new development and enhancement projects. Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code while implementing unit tests and supporting test automation.
Translate technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Write programs, develop code, test artifacts, and produce reports. Employ software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that supports automation.
Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide follow-up production support. Submit change control requests and documentation. Resolve elevated issues.
Deploy front-end applications across development, testing, and production environments. Provide post-deployment support, troubleshoot issues, and participate in release and change management activities.
Thoroughly understand software development methodology. Thoroughly understand development architecture standards. Train and mentor staff with less experience.
Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Explain technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients. Perform systems analysis activities.
Thoroughly understand client business functions and technology needs. Has a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems.
Interface with cross-functional team members and communicate systems issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience.
Participate in UI/UX design reviews, code reviews, testing activities, and sprint ceremonies. Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and QA teams to identify and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Understand business requirements and users need to deliver intuitive, high-performance user experiences. Maintain knowledge of organizational tools, frameworks, and technologies used across the application ecosystem.
Adhere to Information Technology and Information Security policies, including secure coding practices, data protection standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Participate in innovation initiatives, proof-of-concepts, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of development experience.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
