About the role

Senior Lead - Technology Strategy & Planning Analyst

Function: Technology

Reports To: Head of Technology Operations

Location: Begaluru/Pune/Chennai

Level: Senior Lead (Individual Contributor)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Lead Strategy & Planning Analyst to serve as a trusted analytical partner to the Head of Technology Operations and senior technology leadership. This role sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations, and is responsible for bringing rigor and clarity to how we plan, forecast, and govern the spend on technology across a sprawling ecosystem of corporate systems, infrastructure, applications, and third-party vendors.

This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives on untangling complexity, building structure where none exists, and translating dense financial and operational data into crisp executive narratives.

What You'll Do Financial Forecasting & Planning

  • Own the end-to-end financial forecasting process for the Technology function, including monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, as well as multi-year strategic plans.
  • Build and maintain integrated forecast models that capture run-the-business costs, change-the-business investments, capitalized vs. expensed spend, and headcount.
  • Partner with Finance, FP&A, and Technology leaders to reconcile variances, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend course corrections. Capacity & Resource Planning
  • Develop capacity planning frameworks that align technology demand (projects, products, run activities) with supply (internal headcount, contractors, vendor resources).

Translate workforce and infrastructure plans into financial impact and surface trade-offs for leadership decisions.

  • Build scenario models to stress-test capacity assumptions against shifting business priorities.

Disparate Systems & Data Integration

  • Reconcile financial, operational, and vendor data sourced from multiple disparate corporate systems (e.g., ERP, ITSM, HRIS, procurement, CMDB, time tracking, contract management).
  • Establish repeatable processes and data models that bring coherence to fragmented sources of truth, and partner with technology teams to drive longer-term system improvements.
  • Define metrics, KPIs, and reporting standards that hold up across the function.

Vendor & Third-Party Expenditure

  • Analyze vendor spend across software, hardware, cloud, professional services, and managed services contracts.
  • Identify consolidation, renegotiation, optimization, and rationalization opportunities; quantify savings and partner with Procurement and Technology Sourcing to execute.
  • Track contractual commitments, renewals, and consumption trends to prevent over-spend and shelfware.

Executive Reporting & Storytelling

  • Build executive-ready dashboards, board materials, and narrative decks for the CIO, CFO, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations with quantified impact and a defensible point of view.
  • Anticipate the questions executives will ask and have the supporting analysis ready before they ask. Strategic Initiatives
  • Support strategic reviews, business cases, M&A diligence, and operating model reviews as needed.

Act as a thought partner to the Head of Technology Operations on cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc analyses.

What You'll Bring Required

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, FP&A, technology business management (TBM), corporate strategy, management consulting, or a comparable analytical role within a large, complex enterprise.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial planning, accounting fundamentals (capex vs. opex, accruals, depreciation, allocations), and budget/forecast cycles at scale.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, build sound financial models, and pressure-test assumptions.
  • Track record of producing executive-quality reporting and presentations — slides, narratives, and dashboards that withstand C-suite scrutiny.
  • Prior experience operating within complex enterprise ecosystems, including familiarity with how ERP, procurement, HRIS, and IT service management platforms interact.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency with BI/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and ERP/financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday Adaptive, Anaplan).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. Preferred
  • Experience supporting a CIO/CTO organization or Technology Operations / Tech BizOps function.
  • Exposure to Technology Business Management (TBM) frameworks, IT financial management, or cloud financial operations (FinOps).
  • Experience with vendor management, contract analysis, or technology procurement.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced credential.SQL or other data-querying skills.

Who You Are

  • Structured thinker. You can take a tangled question and frame it into something an executive can act on.
  • Financially fluent. You're as comfortable in a P&L as you are in a forecast model or a vendor contract schedule.
  • Detail-oriented without losing the plot. You catch the small things, but you never lose sight of what actually matters to leadership.
  • Self-directed. You operate well in ambiguity and don't wait to be told what the next analysis should be.
  • Credible communicator. You can sit in a room with senior leaders and hold your own — making a recommendation, defending it with data, and adjusting when challenged.
  • Collaborative. You build trust quickly across Finance, Technology, Procurement, and the business.

Why This Role

This is a seat with unusual visibility into how technology runs at enterprise scale — the people, the platforms, the partners, and the dollars. You will work directly with senior leaders, your analyses will shape decisions that move tens of millions of dollars, and you will help bring order to one of the most consequential and complex parts of the company.
