About the role: What's in the Box

You will work with a cross-functional team responsible for how HelloFresh communicates with its customers at scale. The project involves supporting backend-driven, AI-powered systems that automate campaign execution end-to-end — from campaign configuration and content generation to validation, quality checks, and orchestration across channels such as email, SMS, and push.

Working with large-scale data and machine-learning–driven decisioning, you will support the design and operation of reliable, scalable services that reduce manual effort while improving speed, consistency, and customer relevance.

What you’ll do: The Recipe

• Collaborate within an autonomous, cross-functional agile team of 6–10 people, working closely with Product Owners, Frontend Engineers, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Work on the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of our microservices, autonomously driving complex business challenges from conception to resolution.
• Build and maintain robust event-driven systems using state-of-the-art technologies.
• Leverage modern AI tools and DevOps practices to enhance productivity, strategically utilizing methodologies like vibe coding and pair programming.
• Support colleagues by sharing practical knowledge, trends, and technical insights, contributing to an environment where technical perspectives are valued.

What you’ll bring: The Ingredients

• Expertise in Python development, covering the full lifecycle from unit, integration, and functional testing to application tuning, profiling, and continuous integration.
• Solid background in event-driven microservices architecture, utilizing tools such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Proficiency with data storage, including relational databases like PostgreSQL and object stores like AWS S3.
• Strong agile mindset, with a focus on lean thinking, quick iterations, and continuous delivery in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to utilize monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog to ensure system health.
• Experience integrating external systems, such as third-party vendors, APIs, marketing platforms, or messaging services, is a strong plus.
• Curiosity and drive, seeking to continuously develop yourself, learn from peers, and act as an ambassador for AI mentality within the team.
• Solid hands-on experience working with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) beyond casual experimentation. You use AI agents as thought partners to onboard on unfamiliar codebases and navigate new areas of the code with confidence. You have a practical sense of how the context you provide to AI tools - specifications, constraints, examples - shapes output quality, and a developing awareness of how agentic outputs can fail, with growing habits around verifying, test
