About the role

At JetBrains, code is our passion. Ever since we started, back in 2000, we have strived to make the strongest, most effective developer tools on earth. By automating routine checks and corrections, our tools speed up production, freeing developers to grow, discover, and create.

JetBrains TeamCity is a CI/CD platform that automates software build, test, and deployment processes. It has a long history and a strong enterprise customer base. TeamCity is one of the most powerful and flexible tools on the market, and that flexibility is especially valuable as AI agents take on more development tasks and need reliable automation under the hood. At the same time, TeamCity is being modernized to meet the evolving needs of AI-native development.

TeamCity’s mission is to deliver the full power and flexibility of modern CI/CD, enriched with pragmatic AI and exposed through an agentic layer that helps handle the domain’s complexity, while remaining reliable, secure, enterprise-ready, and fully under customer control.

The team has been building a data-informed culture, leveraging usage data from both on-premises and cloud offerings. The next step is deepening the role of data in the product team's day-to-day decisions.

We are currently looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join the team and support these efforts. You will be part of the Data Analytics team within JetBrains Central, while working as a dedicated analyst embedded in the TeamCity product team.

In this role, you will:

  • Be fully integrated into the product team, collaborating with product managers, developers, and other technical experts.
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis to support product decisions, from exploring user behavior to validating assumptions behind new feature development.
  • Establish and promote best practices for working with data within the team, including event logging design, consistency, and data quality.
  • Maintain and develop the product metrics framework to evaluate product performance.
  • Build and maintain dashboards with product metrics using BI tools such as Metabase or Tableau.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of product releases, analyzing what occurred after a new feature was launched.
  • Conduct research analytics, such as investigating hypotheses and explaining why one metric decreased while another increased after a release.
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines and data models to enable complete, end-to-end analytics coverage.

We value product analysts who:

  • Operate independently and manage stakeholder expectations – as the first dedicated analyst on the team, you will help shape a data-informed culture and establish how the team works with data.
  • Proactively identify areas for product improvement, raise questions, and address existing challenges.
  • Can distill complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Have a solid foundation in statistics, including sampling techniques and understanding sampling errors, since data is gathered from a sample of product users.
  • Have data engineering skills, including experience designing ETLs and data pipelines to enable the creation of complete, end-to-end dashboards.

We’ll be happy to have you on our team if you have:

  • Expertise in statistics and data analysis.
  • Extensive experience with SQL and Python.
  • At least two years of experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other BI tools.
  • Strong data visualization and interpretation skills.

We’d be especially thrilled if you:

  • Have experience working with developer tools, DevOps products, or CI/CD workflows.
  • Have a background in A/B testing or experiment design.
  • Have experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate data analysis and analytics workflows.

In the Data Analytics team, we use:

  • SQL for data querying.
  • Python for data processing and analysis.
  • Tableau and Metabase for data visualization.
  • Datalore for analytical reports.
