What This Job Involves

The Vendor Manager supports JLL sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and program management with a specialized focus on Indigenous partnership developments. You'll shape JLL's sourcing strategies, cultivate supplier relationships rooted in respect and trust, and advance our Indigenous procurement commitments across Canada. This role combines strategic vendor management with culturally informed relationship building—driving both business performance and sustainable Indigenous partnerships that create lasting impact.

You'll manage vendor performance across our supply base while developing trust-based relationships with Indigenous suppliers and communities. Success requires navigating performance conversations with cultural sensitivity, implementing change management initiatives that honor Indigenous business protocols, and ensuring compliance with both sourcing policies and Indigenous procurement frameworks.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Analyze and strategize: Conduct market trend analysis in key categories, tracking supplier and industry changes to deliver actionable insights while driving cost optimization, risk mitigation, and ROI improvements

  • Manage vendor performance: Oversee performance across the supply base, partnering with field teams on issue escalation and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with sourcing policies and working with Legal and Risk Management on contracts

  • Build Indigenous partnerships: Cultivate authentic, trust-based relationships with Indigenous suppliers and communities through culturally sensitive engagement, active listening, and respect for Indigenous business protocols and decision-making timelines

  • Navigate complex conversations: Manage contract lifecycles and address performance gaps diplomatically, using cultural awareness to collaboratively develop solutions that preserve partnership integrity

  • Lead cross-functionally: Develop regional and national programs, bridge internal stakeholders with Indigenous partners, and coach teams on culturally appropriate engagement practices and reconciliation principles

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Relationship Management, or Procurement
  • 2+ years in third-party risk management
  • Experience in energy sector and with Indigenous vendors
  • Track record of conducting strategic supplier performance reviews and leading change management
  • Strong analytical thinking and strategic mindset
