About the role
NVIDIA Networking Business Unit is looking for an experienced Thermal validation engineer to execute thermal validation tests plan for our products as switches, HCAs and optical transceivers, to ensure that our products meet thermal performance, reliability, and specification under real-world operating conditions. This role involves hands-on testing, data analysis, and collaboration with thermal design and hardware engineers. NVIDIA Networking division is a leading supplier of innovative end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet connectivity solutions and services for servers and storage. We offer market-leading solutions that include adapter cards, switches, cables and software to support networking technologies.
Our products optimize data center performance and deliver industry-leading bandwidth and scalability. What you will be doing:
Develop and execute thermal validation test plans for air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems.
Validate cooling solutions (fans, heat sinks, cold plates, liquid cooling loops) under various environmental and load conditions
Analyze thermal data to identify overheating risks, thermal throttling behavior, and cooling solutions
Document test results in detailed reports and present findings to cross-functional teams
Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and product designers, to ensure effective integration of thermal solutions into the overall product design.
What we need to see:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related field with at least 5 years of experience in this field.
Hands-on experience with air and liquid cooling systems (fans, heat pipes, cold plates, immersion cooling).
Proficiency with thermal testing tools (FLIR cameras, data acquisition systems, wind tunnels, flow meters).
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Familiarity with CFD tools (ANSYS , FloTHERM)
Experience with scripting for test automation and data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
