Payroll Manager

The Payroll Manager leads and oversees the end-to-end payroll process for the organization (approximately 1,200 employees). This position ensures payroll accuracy, compliance with all applicable laws, and timely processing. The Payroll Manager collaborates with internal and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and efficient payroll.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in Oracle WMS, ensuring timely updates for all movements and adjustments to minimize discrepancies.
  • Oversee and manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate bi-weekly/semimonthly payroll processing.
  • Supervise and support a payroll team of two, providing mentorship, performance management, and workflow coordination.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Review and approve payroll entries, adjustments, retroactive payments, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes, year-end processes including W-2s, and other statutory reporting.
  • Partner with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll-related accounts and support audits and month-end close processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage payroll systems and act as the point of contact for system upgrades, integrations, or vendor relationships.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure company practices remain compliant.
