Inside Sales Representative
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Business Segment: Robotics & Automation

Role Summary:

This is a high‑energy sales role at the centre of Novanta’s Robotics and Automation business. You will own pipeline growth from first contact to close, working with customers who build advanced automation systems used across manufacturing, robotics and industrial technology.

If you enjoy outbound sales, technical conversations, and clear targets, this role gives you visibility, responsibility, and momentum.

What you will do:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across robotics and automation markets.
  • Proactively contact prospective customers through phone, email and other outreach channels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular, value‑focused communication.
  • Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Close deals and consistently meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate, disciplined records of sales activity in CRM systems.
  • Track and contribute to key outcomes:
    • Revenue growth
    • Customer acquisition and retention
    • Customer satisfaction

What success looks like:

  • A healthy, moving pipeline built through consistent outbound activity.
  • Deals closed on time with clear customer needs and technical fit.
  • Strong, trusted relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Data‑driven focus on what converts and where to spend your time.

Skills and Experience:

Sales capability

  • Solid understanding of sales techniques, including cold calling and lead generation.
  • Comfortable discussing technical products with engineers and buyers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, clear, concise, and persuasive.

Execution mindset:

  • Results‑driven with excellent time management and organisation.
  • Able to prioritise the few actions that drive the most revenue.
  • Uses metrics to track progress and guide decisions.

Ways of working:

  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
  • Collaborative and reliable within a global team.
  • Calm and resilient under pressure, persistent when deals stall.
  • Direct and honest communicator, even when conversations are difficult.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Confident user of CRM tools and sales tracking systems.
