Who We Are
Join the Cisco Silicon One team in developing a unified silicon architecture for web-scale and service provider networks. Our environment combines the best aspects of a startup culture within a multi-geography silicon organization, providing an innovative, growth-driven career path for engineers working on ASICs, hardware boards, and software infrastructure.
What You'll Do
As a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in accelerating development velocity by building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and highly stable infrastructure. Your expertise in CI/CD automation, IaC (Infrastructure as Code), and system optimization will directly impact the efficiency and speed of our development workflows. By ensuring seamless software delivery and reliable infrastructure, you will empower teams to innovate and deploy faster while maintaining operational excellence.
Your Impact
CI/CD & Infrastructure
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and IaC tooling (Puppet, Ansible).
- Deploy and orchestrate containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Develop and improve On Prem Lunix Image
Databases & Data Infrastructure
- Administer MySQL and time-series stores such as Prometheus.
- Design schemas, optimize queries, manage indexing, backups, replication, and disaster recovery.
- Plan capacity and lifecycle, leveraging the Percona ecosystem (e.g., XtraBackup, PMM) for performance and scale.
Monitoring & Observability
- Build and operate our observability stack — Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, ELK/OpenSearch.
- Design dashboards, alerts, and SLO/SLI frameworks that give teams real-time visibility into pipelines, labs, and infrastructure.
- Develop data collection pipelines and exporters to ingest metrics, logs, and traces from across the organization.
- Own anomaly detection and incident-response tooling, with a focus on minimizing MTTD and MTTR
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with software, IT, and lab teams to define monitoring requirements and refine workflows.
- Enforce security best practices for database access, data retention, and monitoring infrastructure.
- Keep runbooks, design docs, and operational documentation accurate and up to date.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years in DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, or Database Engineering roles.
- DBA skills with MySQL (schema design, query optimization, replication).
Preferred Qualifications
- Percona ecosystem experience (Percona Server, XtraBackup, PMM).
- Configuration management and GitOps workflows (Puppet, Ansible, ArgoCD/Flux or similar).
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- On-prem data center or hybrid cloud background.
- Experience with log aggregation platforms (ELK/OpenSearch, Loki, or Splunk).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring/observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar).
- Experience with time-series or analytical databases (e.g., InfluxDB, ClickHouse, or similar).
- Comfortable building dashboards, alerting rules, and data/metrics pipelines.
- Proficiency in Bash and Python for automation and tooling.
- Strong Linux administration fundamentals.
- CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
