Position Summary
If you love working with data, being part of a high performing team, and are excited to help transform healthcare through our retail pharmacy innovation roadmap, this role is for you! The Manager, Pharmacy Services Data Architect, will support a team that is motivated by the opportunity to reinvent healthcare and improve health outcomes for our patients. This role is highly collaborative and will work in a matrixed environment to use the assets of the entire CVS Health Enterprise to write and optimize complex database queries, build data pipelines, and maintain data table integrity and accuracy. You will be able to turn raw data into actionable, meaningful business insights by leveraging technology and data to improve operational performance and patient health outcomes. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Services Reporting & Insights.
Responsibilities
Explore datasets to learn about the underlying data and how it relates to business processes; this could include proactive outreach to appropriate enterprise partners to ensure accuracy in understanding how to properly utilize the data
Use critical thinking to frame business problems, acquire relevant data points, design analytical plans, and write SQL queries that deliver results for requested analyses
Build aggregated reporting tables in Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms that can be utilized for replicable reporting needs
Design and execute complex analyses using large (and sometimes messy) datasets
Engage collaboratively across the team and with enterprise partners on various projects to support our Pharmacy Services growth and profitability goals
Required Qualifications
4+ years of working knowledge and experience in analyzing large data sets
4+ years of strong command of SQL, independently performing analysis, validation, and issue resolution across multiple data sources
4+ years of demonstrated ability to exercise analytical judgment when validating dashboards, datasets, and AI-generated outputs—knowing when results are decision-ready versus investigatory
3+ years advanced Excel skills (e.g., advanced formulas, conditional formatting, charts, graphs, VBA & macros, etc)
Working proficiency with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support code development/optimization, testing, documentation, or other reporting capabilities while adhering to enterprise AI governance standards
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred (MBA or Master’s in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field)
2+ years of experience using Python for data analysis and/or process automation, along with hands-on experience in GCP tools such as BigQuery and Vertex AI
Experience working with pharmacy data and applying analytics to drive insights and business decisions
Demonstrated strategic problem-solving capabilities, including experience in new product development or quantitative consulting environments
Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to generate insights, solve complex problems, and effectively present findings to diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels
Education
Undergraduate degree in a STEM field

The typical pay range for this role is:
$66,330.00 - $145,860.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
