DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Manager, Technical Support & Applications Support is a strategic business leader responsible for defining and executing the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) support strategy across Life Sciences, Laboratory Products, Diagnostics, Pharma, and EAC portfolios.
This role leads a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-impact technical and scientific support to research institutions, clinical laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and environmental testing organizations. The position transforms technical support into a competitive differentiator and growth engine by driving service revenue expansion, enhancing customer experience, and building scalable operational excellence.
As a member of the ANZ service leadership team, this role partners closely with Commercial, Service, Quality, Regulatory, and Global Product teams to align support strategy with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Mission and growth objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced Degree plus 10 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in biopharma analytics and technical applications
- Preferred Fields of Study: Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields
- Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
- Experience managing strategic customer collaboration projects and partnerships
- Advanced knowledge of protein and cell-based methodologies, including protein extraction, purification, and cell-based functional studies
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities for complex technical issues
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to achieve results in complex situations
- Customer-focused approach with understanding of market needs and trends
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation, application notes, and training materials
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time
- Experience with performance monitoring, resource allocation, and team development
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Marketing, Sales, R&D, and other cross-functional partners
