What you will have an opportunity to do:

Most of the hotel is asleep. The lobby is quiet. The energy has shifted. And in the middle of all of that, you are the one holding it all together. You are the face guests see when they arrive late after a long journey. You are the voice on the other end of the phone when something is not right at 2am. You are the person who closes out the day for an entire hotel, reconciles every number, generates every report, and makes sure the morning team walks into a property that is ready to go. And you do all of it with professionalism, warmth, and calm authority.

That is the Night Auditor at the Marriott Colorado Springs, and it is one of the most important roles on our entire property.

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and genuinely people-first Night Auditor to join our Front Desk team. This role covers our key overnight hours, typically 11pm to 7am, and serves as the Manager on Duty for the property during that time. If you are someone who thrives in an environment where you are trusted to work independently, takes ownership seriously, and brings both precision and warmth to everything you do, this is your opportunity.

About the Role

The Night Auditor is not just a front desk position with different hours. This role carries real responsibility. As the Manager on Duty overnight, you are the decision-maker on property when leadership is not present. You are the first and last point of contact for guests who arrive late or depart early. You are the person who closes out the financial day for the entire hotel, ensures every number is accurate, and prepares the reporting that the entire leadership team will rely on the next morning. And through all of it, you are still delivering the warm, engaging, guest-first hospitality that defines who we are.

This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable crunching numbers and having a genuine conversation with a traveler who just needs to feel welcomed after a long day of travel. Someone who does not need someone looking over their shoulder to do excellent work. Someone who takes pride in the fact that when their shift ends, the hotel is in better shape than when it started.

This role also represents a real opportunity to grow within the hospitality industry. Night Auditors who excel here develop a uniquely comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, financial processes, and guest services that sets them apart as they advance in their careers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serving as the Manager on Duty for the property during overnight hours, exercising sound judgment and discretion to handle any situation that arises

  • Welcoming guests warmly upon late arrival, creating a memorable and genuine first impression that sets the tone for their stay

  • Completing the check-in process accurately, confirming room rates and special requests, ensuring proper credit is received, and providing guests with all necessary information about the hotel and its amenities

  • Helping guests discover everything the hotel and local area have to offer, serving as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic resource for all things Colorado Springs

  • Resolving guest concerns and complaints with patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to finding the right solution; turning a difficult moment into a standout recovery experience

  • Promoting and selling special hotel programs and loyalty offerings during guest interactions

  • Executing all Night Audit procedures with precision and a high level of attention to detail, including posting charges, balancing accounts, and closing out the financial day for the property

  • Generating, printing, and distributing all required daily and weekly reports for leadership and department heads

  • Following established procedures for posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds accurately and without exception

  • Maintaining and balancing an assigned house bank throughout the shift

  • Communicating all relevant overnight information clearly and thoroughly to the incoming manager on duty at the close of the shift

  • Interacting with all hotel departments in a professional and collaborative manner, providing necessary information and support across the operation

  • Knowing and following all emergency procedures and property safety policies, and acting as the point of authority on property during any overnight emergency situation

  • Assisting other departments as needed throughout the shift

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area throughout the overnight hours

What We're Looking For

  • An outgoing, engaging, and genuine personality that puts guests at ease the moment they interact with you

  • A strong desire to make a real impact on the people you serve, not just process transactions but actually connect with people

  • High attention to detail; in the audit function, accuracy is everything and you understand that

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; you communicate clearly, professionally, and with warmth whether you are speaking with a guest or writing a report for leadership

  • The ability to work independently and make sound decisions without direct supervision

  • Comfort and competence working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate hotel property management systems and reporting tools

  • Solid basic math skills and the ability to perform moderately complex financial calculations accurately

  • A calm, solutions-focused approach to problem solving under pressure

  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols, or a strong willingness to learn

  • Genuine commitment to the overnight schedule; this role requires someone who can consistently work 11pm to 7am and bring full professionalism to every single shift

What are we looking for?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or hospitality coursework is a plus

  • Previous hotel front desk or guest services experience is strongly preferred

  • Prior Night Audit experience is a significant advantage though we are willing to train the right candidate

  • Experience handling cash, processing financial transactions, and balancing accounts accurately

  • Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn hotel property management and reporting systems quickly

  • Ability to stand and remain active on your feet for the full duration of the overnight shift

  • Must be available to work overnight shifts including weekends and holidays; this is a non-negotiable requirement of the role

  • Professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the standards of the Marriott brand

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining the highest standards of performance and accountability

Who Thrives Here

The Night Auditors who excel in this role are the ones who take quiet pride in doing excellent work when no one is watching. They finish the audit right, every time, because the morning team is counting on accurate numbers and they know it. They treat the 2am check-in with the same care and warmth as a midday arrival because that guest does not know what time it is on the hotel's clock; they only know how they were made to feel. They handle the unexpected with composure because they understand that overnight, they are the leader on property and people are looking to them.

If you are someone who finds real satisfaction in a clean audit, a well-handled guest situation, and a shift that ends with everything exactly as it should be, this role will be deeply rewarding.
