Role Overview
As a Supply Chain Planning Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support production and customer demand. You will forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and coordinate material flow across the supply chain to minimize disruption and optimize performance.
This role may be filled at the Analyst I or Analyst II level, depending on experience. In this position, you will either support (Level I) or independently manage (Level II) inventory planning activities, while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecast demand and support material planning using historical data, production schedules, and consumption trends
- Monitor inventory levels and replenishment activity to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess
- Process and validate material orders while maintaining accurate inventory data across systems
- Generate and analyze inventory reports and key performance indicators (e.g., inventory turnover, days on hand, stock-outs)
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations
- Manage excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate material flow to support production schedules, including labeling and stock rotation
- Proactively manage backorders and reorders, partnering with suppliers and internal teams to minimize disruptions
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, production, warehouse operations, and suppliers to align supply with demand
- Communicate inventory risks, supply constraints, and performance insights; escalate and recommend solutions as needed
- Support or lead process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications – Analyst I
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years’ experience in a related field
- Working knowledge of inventory management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Basic data analysis and reporting capabilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy across multiple systems
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications – Analyst I
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Experience in inventory planning, MRP, or supply chain operations
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or dealership environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools
- Basic understanding of demand forecasting and inventory optimization
Minimum Qualifications – Analyst II
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field
- Strong knowledge of ERP and inventory management systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., data analysis, pivot tables, reporting)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable decisions
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications – Analyst II
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive (including dealerships), or supply chain operations
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
- Experience with demand forecasting, inventory optimization, or MRP processes
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, walking, bending, and warehouse activity
- Work across office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Up to 10% travel may be required
