RESTAURANT BARISTA | JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
At Magnolia, the Restaurant Barista is responsible for creating quality beverages and maintaining a clean and comfortable restaurant environment. This position ensures the highest level of customer care to guests by providing exceptional service and assistance. This position works from Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Assistant Front of House Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the highest level of guest care, in line with Magnolia’s brand
- Greet guests with enthusiasm
- Create a variety of high-quality beverages and coffees per Magnolia’s standards and recipes*
- Answer questions regarding coffee, cocktails, beer, wine and menu items to guests
- Maintain stock, cut, and store of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality, and maintain highest quality*
- Ensure that the beverage bar is fully stocked and all opening and closing duties are completed*
- Prepare and sell menu items by following prescribed recipes and techniques
- Polish drinkware to ensure cleanliness for service and clean beverage equipment
- Assist with running drinks and food when needed
- Respond to guest needs when possible and/or communicate to a manager if necessary
- Assist with bussing and resetting tables when needed
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards
- Contribute to a safe and clean working environment*
- Ensure responsible alcohol service per TABC training and notify management of any issues
- Perform other duties as assigned

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 0-1 years of related work experience preferred
- Food Handler's license and TABC certification required upon hire
- Must be available to work weekends, nights, special events, and holidays as business needs require
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is intermittent sounds at a level sufficient to cause hearing loss or fatigue. The employee is subject to high temperatures and low temperatures.
