About the role
What you will do:
Develop, validate, and maintain CMM inspection programs using PolyWorks (Inspector / PMM / Modeler) for new and existing components.
Execute offline and online CMM programming to support NPI, process transfers, and sustain production.
Design and implement PolyWorks Dataloop integrations to enable SPC, trend analysis, feedback loops, and enterprise quality systems.
Configure inspection of data outputs for real-time analytics, dashboards, and quality monitoring platforms.
Develop and maintain PolyWorks macros and automation scripts to standardize measurement routines, reporting, and program execution.
Drive inspection automation and template-based programming to improve efficiency, repeatability, and scalability.
Perform dimensional inspections, analyze results, and ensure conformance to drawings, CAD models, and specifications.
Apply advanced GD&T (ASME Y14.5) principles to inspect strategy, feature evaluation, and tolerance interpretation.
Generate FAI, inspection reports, capability studies, and validation documentation from PolyWorks measurement data.
Support First Article Inspections (FAI), MSA, capability studies, and process validations.
Collaborate with Design, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Digital teams to define inspection strategies early in the design phase (DFI / DFM / DFA).
Work with the Global Internal Team & Suppliers to establish inspection strategies and ensure measurement system capability
Led cross‑functional collaboration with Design and R&D to implement Design for Inspection (DFI) early in the design lifecycle.
Perform root cause analysis on dimensional non‑conformances and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support internal and external audits by providing traceable inspection data, validation evidence, and technical documentation.
Contribute to digital metrology strategy, including standardization, automation, and closed‑loop quality systems.
Support reverse engineering, alignment strategies, surface comparison, and CAD‑to‑scan analysis using PolyWorks tools.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean principles and data‑driven insights.
What you will need:
Required Qualification:
- Education: B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience: 5–9 years of experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, or quality engineering within precision manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualification:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to collaborate with multiple divisions and understand their requirements.
- Fast learner and open to adopting new technologies/applications in the field of Metrology.
