About the role
Summary
A Datacenter Semiconductor Infrastructure Technician (often referred to as a Data Center Facility Technician or IT Infrastructure Technician) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical hardware, power, and cooling systems that support high-performance computing, AI, and cloud services.
Responsibilities
- 24 hours/ 7 days Monitoring and operation based on given SOP (standard Operation Procedures)
- Rack, stack, install, configure, decommission, and replace servers, storage systems
- Perform hardware diagnostics and component-level replacements (drives, memory, power supplies, NICs).
- Ensure equipment is installed according to data center standards and best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, application, and network connectivity issues.
- Maintain accurate asset inventory records and system documentation.
- Collaborate with engineer teams to ensure integration of infrastructure in Datacenter
- Datacenter facility monitoring and visual checkups
- Knowledge on power, cabling, low voltage, generator, cooling related facility
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 6 years’ experience working in data centers
- Strong understanding of server, storage, and networking hardware.
Dell/HP servers, EMC Storage devices, Oracle Exadata, Smart PDUs - Familiarity with operating systems
- Experience working in data center or mission-critical environments preferred.
- Linux, Windows, Storage, Network certification preferred
- Capability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights as required
- Flexibility to work extended hours or shifts based on project demands
Required Degree: Associate Degree, or higher, equivalent experience and certification
Required Experience: 3+ years
