Job Description

Analyze custom ABAP programs (Z‑reports) in SE38/SE80 to extract business logic, filters, joins, and transformations.
Perform ST05 SQL Traces to capture underlying database operations for reports.
Identify standard tables, Z‑tables, structures, internal table logic, and derived fields used in reports.
Decode BADIs, user exits, enhancements (implicit/explicit) impacting report outputs.
Document field‑level mappings from ABAP logic → SAP base tables.
Work with SAP Functional consultants (MM/SD/Planning) to validate logic and clarify business rules.
Produce technical specification documents for Data Engineers to rebuild logic outside SAP.
Understand dependencies between reports and underlying SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, Inventory).
Identify opportunities for simplification or optimization of report logic.
Support data reconciliation and row‑level parity validation between SAP and rebuilt datasets.

Mandatory:

Strong hands‑on experience with ABAP programming, including classical reports, ALV, function modules, and includes.
Deep understanding of:

SAP MM (inventory, stock categories, reservations)
SAP SD (substitution, determination, condition technique)
SAP Logistics Execution (for MB5T & STO flows)


Strong experience with:

ST05 SQL Trace
SE11/SE12/SE16N for dictionary analysis
SE93, SE38, SE80 for program/component identification
Debugger to step through Z-report execution


Experience reading and interpreting dynamic SELECTs, internal tables, loop logic, user exits.
Ability to identify Z-tables, enhancement implementations, and custom logic embedded in code.
Experience collaborating with data teams to create source-to-target mapping documents.
Excellent documentation skills: field mappings, logic flows, dependency diagrams.
