As part of our Camera Technologies group, you’ll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You’ll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You’ll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we’ll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras.

Description

The Camera Hardware Engineering Team is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. We are seeking an extraordinary Mechanical Engineer (FEA) to evaluate and work on camera hardware modules and component parts.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Material Science or similar concentration and at least 5 years of relevant industry experience. Experience in running non-linear static and dynamic Finite Element Analysis. Experience with Abaqus, Ansys, and/or equivalent CAE packages.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of experience in FEA in large-volume consumer electronic industry. Expertise in structural, thermo-mechanical, and heat transfer modeling. Additional expertise in fracture mechanics, adhesive materials, electromagnetic, acoustic, and CFD is preferred. Experience in modeling of different classes of materials including polymers, elastomers, soft adhesives, and brittle materials. Experience with calibration, verification, and validation of models through physical testing. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with multi-functional teams, management, and external vendors. Proficiency in Matlab, Python, and Abaqus User Subroutines is a plus.
