About the role

Machine Operator
A machine operator must be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. You will need to have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential this position requires collaboration with co-workers.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Must be familiar with measuring instruments (measuring tape, calipers)
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
  • Using machine equipment to complete tasks
  • Performing routine inspections of manufacturing equipment
  • Evaluating the efficiency of each unit regularly, identifying improvements as needed

Requirements:
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
  • Work as a team within department and with other departments and Leads
  • Proven experience as a machine operator
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies

Required Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products. Must be able to stand, sit and bend for long periods of time.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt and sand.
Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, and/or respirators.
