DBI headquarter is in Rueil-Malmaison, greater Paris area, with subsidiaries across Europe (DACH, Italy, Iberia, Eastern Europe). To join us in this adventure, the IT/Tech Department is recruiting a Director Data & BI (M/F)
DBI is currently undertaking a large-scale information systems transformation program, including the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). In this context, data governance has become a critical and cross-functional priority.
Data management practices across the organization remain fragmented, inconsistently structured, and insufficiently formalized. The company is seeking an experienced leader to build a robust, enterprise-wide data governance framework that supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making.
Mission & Key Objectives
The Director Data & BI will be responsible for defining, implementing, and leading the company's data governance strategy at the group level. The Director Data & BI will lead the company’s data transformation, ensuring reliable, scalable, and business-driven data across all brands.
- Establish a clear governance framework covering roles, responsibilities, processes, and standards
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of critical business data
- Lead and industrialize product Master Data Management practices
- Scaling the data platform (Snowflake) and BI (Power BI)
- Guarantee alignment with the D365 ERP deployment program and other legacy ERPs
- Aligning data initiatives with IT architecture and business needs
- Coordinate interactions across key business domains: Design/Merchandising, Commercial (wholesale, retail, e-commerce), Supply Chain/Sourcing, and Finance
In a context of fragmented systems and critical data challenges, the role will prioritize industrializing data foundations and restoring data trust.
Key responsibilities
Data Governance Leadership
- Build and lead a global Data Office
- Serve as the enterprise authority on data governance policies and standards
- Define ownership structures and stewardship models for all critical data domains
- Manage and evolve the data governance committee and associated working groups
Master Data Management (MDM)
- Design and implement MDM frameworks covering product, supplier, customer, and operational data
- Drive the standardization and harmonization of master data across business units and systems
- Oversee the deployment and maintenance of reliable, governed data repositories
- Define data quality standards, KPIs, and control mechanisms
Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership
- Engage and align both business and IT stakeholders on data governance priorities
- Lead change management initiatives to embed data governance into day-to-day operations
- Deliver training and communication programs to promote data literacy
- Act as an advisor to executive leadership on data strategy and risk
ERP & Technology Alignment
- Ensure data governance practices are fully integrated into the IT roadmap
- Collaborate with IT and program teams to define data migration and data quality standards
- Evaluate and recommend tooling for MDM, data quality, and data cataloguing
- Industrialize Snowflake / Power BI platform
- Stabilize product data and BI reliability
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior data leader with strong experience in data governance, MDM, and modern data platforms, ideally within retail or consumer goods. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor, capable of setting a rigorous framework and driving its adoption across a complex, international organization.
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Master Data Management and BI
- Strong understanding of apparel business processes: Collection Development, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Wholesale distribution, e-commerce, and Retail
- Track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs in international environments
- Strong experience on Microsoft ecosystem (PowerBI, Azure, D365, Fabrics, Synapse Link...)
