Description of Work

You must apply by 11:59 PM prior to the posted closing date.The Procurement Office provides centralized oversight of formal solicitation activities, including RFQs and RFPs, promotes consistent procurement practices across the division, and supports operational readiness through effective materials management and procurement coordination.
This position serves a critical role in providing procurement and inventory support for the assigned maintenance facility and the vessels operating within that service area. The selected candidate will act as a primary liaison for Ferry Field Maintenance, Marine Asset, and Vessel Asset teams, coordinating both inventory and non-inventory procurement requests while ensuring timely operational material support.
Key responsibilities include processing requisitions and purchase orders, coordinating competitive bid processes, and supporting procurement activities for a wide range of commodities, equipment, materials, and specialized marine-related supplies. The position also assists with maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting asset accountability, and ensuring compliance with state procurement policies, procedures, and established procurement standards.
This position is based at the Hatteras facility.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC09 $41,206 - $72,113
Management prefers applicants with the following:
General knowledge of economics and methods of transportation and purchasing.
Skill in maintaining records of some complexity, and to prepare reports or tabulations from these records.
Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret established rules and regulations.
Experience in EBS/SAP/Ariba or other related software.
