About the role

General Summary:

The Zone Sales and Operations Director is accountable for leading the overall operations and merchandising aspects of the assigned zone by ensuring the consistent execution of company programs, processes and initiatives across all stores.  This position will work collaboratively with all Zone Team support leaders, Regional Directors, District Managers and Store Support Center to drive sales, control labor costs, reduce shrink and exceed cash contribution plan within the assigned zone.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to support shared goals and seamless execution. (People)
  • Drive sales growth across priority stores, underperforming regions, districts, and stores by developing targeted strategies and action plans. (Process)
  • Lead the execution of company merchandising playbooks, seasonal transitions, schematic updates and holiday planning to ensure brand consistency and optimal product presentation across all stores. (Process)
  • Drive profitability growth by optimizing seasonal sell-through rates through effective inventory management and targeted merchandising strategies.
  • Monitor and manage Direct Store Delivery (DSD) credits to maximize financial returns and minimize losses. (Process)
  • Achieve financial deliverables through the following (Performance)    
    • Sales: Consistently meet and exceed comparable sales (Comp Sales) plans through effective sales strategies and team leadership.
    • DSD Sales: Drive growth in Direct Store Delivery (DSD) sales to outperform both company and industry averages.
    •  Priority Stores: Continuously improve sales performance and cash contribution in priority stores by implementing targeted initiatives and close collaboration with store teams.
    • Cash Contribution: Enhance cash contribution for the zone, ensuring achievement and surpassing of zone planned contribution margin (CM) targets.

Position Requirements:

·Ability to travel locally and overnight as needed, Valid Driver’s License.

·Ability to travel locally and overnight on a regular basis as needed.         

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) preferred.

Experience: Five (5) plus years of retail experience in a senior leadership role, which includes multi-store oversight and the partnership of others who have multi-store field responsibility.  Financial and retail management skills, including the ability to interpret operating statements and reporting data, manage budgets, manage inventory, maintain tough expense control and manage merchandise effectively.  Evidence of building a team and motivating a large and diverse organization of Team Members.   Proven leadership and the ability to highlight, develop and retain top performers.

Job Related Skills: Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as strong planning, collaboration and organizational skills. Proven ability to react under pressure, apply good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable as appropriate.

Computer Skills: Demonstrated ability to leverage data/analytics to pinpoint opportunities and develop solutions, experienced with Microsoft Office suite, and mobile technology devices.
