The USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, enthusiastic professional to serve as a Senior Assistant Director for Dornsife Admission and Student Success. The Senior Assistant Director will assist with recruitment, outreach, and support strategies for undergraduate admission and retention efforts within USC Dornsife. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and skilled in project management, and will be strong in both written and oral communication.
Duties for this position may include:
- Leading in-person and virtual information sessions to educate prospective students about USC’s liberal arts college and counsel these students regarding university admission policies and procedures. Following up on applicant inquiries and offering solutions to admission-related questions.
- Managing event logistics for a robust calendar of prospective, admitted, and current student events.
- Overseeing communication and outreach efforts for the office, including work with developing email campaigns, webpages, and social media.
- Managing a group of undergraduate student volunteers working with admission-related projects and events.
- Staying current on a wide range of university policies, school-wide policies, and educational trends affecting undergraduate students, admission, and retention efforts. Serving as an information resource for the university community, particularly in the areas of undergraduate admission, scholarships, and retention efforts.
- Working collaboratively with a team of staff members and undergraduate students on undergraduate admission and retention efforts.
- Assisting with data collection and reporting.
- Performing other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Preferred Education:
- Master’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in admissions and recruitment at an academic or higher education institution, with knowledge of transfer credit policies and financial aid programs.
- Deft ability to gather, analyze, evaluate and assess large amounts of physical and digital data.
- Skilled in interviewing, counseling, conflict resolution, problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proven ability to interpret, analyze, and apply pertinent policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements.
- Skilled at organization, with astute attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills for communicating tactfully with faculty, staff, and diverse individuals and groups.
- Exemplary written and oral communication and presentation skills, with experience developing communication plans and related content.
- Experience with customer-relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Demonstrated experience with office management communication software/tools (e.g. Google suite, Slack, Skype). Experience in social media management.
Salary range: The salary range for this position is $66,962.00 - $77,043.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
