About the role
Factory is looking for highly capable systems-oriented engineers to develop our core platform infrastructure that powers our enterprise-grade development tools and services. This role focuses on building and maintaining the critical systems that form the backbone of the Factory Platform.
What you will do and achieve:
Design and implement core infrastructure components including authentication systems, billing integrations, and service middleware that ensure reliable platform operations
Architect and maintain scalable backend services while developing complementary frontend interfaces for system administration and monitoring
Create robust APIs and service interfaces that enable seamless integration between platform components while maintaining high performance and reliability
Collaborate with the platform team to design and implement system architecture improvements that enhance scalability, security, and maintainability
Build and maintain critical infrastructure that supports our enterprise customers' needs, focusing on system reliability, performance monitoring, and operational excellence
Qualifications:
A strong technical background with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, coupled with 3+ years of experience in full-stack development roles. Strong frontend expertise is required.
Proficiency in a diverse set of programming languages and frameworks, including but not limited to JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python. Experience with TypeScript and Next.js is a plus.
Demonstrable experience with both frontend and backend development, including API design, database management, and crafting user interfaces that delight users.
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) that support scalable application deployment.
The team goes into the office 5 days a week in San Francisco (walking distance to Caltrain).
