About the Position
We are looking for an energetic and driven Regulatory Lawyer to join our Legal team in Hong Kong.
In this role, you’ll provide clear and practical advice to teams across the firm and advise on both non-contentious and contentious regulatory matters. You will be expected to:
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance across different asset classes (e.g., equities, listed and OTC derivatives, commodities, fixed income, digital assets) and to coordinate legal advice in jurisdictions across the APAC region
- Partner with our Compliance team to advise on regulatory licensing, reporting and market access obligations, and to assist in preparing for and responding to regulatory inspections or investigations
- Be a key contributor on strategic projects and business development initiatives across the APAC region
- Work closely with legal teams in the UK and US as part of a global legal function
About You
- Have at least 5+ years of PQE in a relevant practice area (i.e. non-contentious or contentious regulatory), within a leading law firm or in-house with a financial institution
- Able to stay organised with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, and able to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and able to identify and distill key issues in complex areas
- Self-motivated and flexible team player
- Positive, responsible and professional in attitude and presence
- Collaborative and able to clearly articulate your approach, analysis and conclusions
- Comfortable working on novel problems that rarely have clean, definitive answers and that require good decision making and risk management skills
- Fluent in English
