As part of Magna International, Magna Energy Storage Systems Group develops and manufactures innovative fuel tank systems and components for heavy-duty trucks and passenger cars, specializing in plug-in hybrids. Job Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift to load/unload materials.
- Management of goods and means of transport, movements of goods (physical and ERP side).
- Organize and stock material supplies to meet production requirements and inventory control guidelines in a JIT environment.
- Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.
- Record all material movement within the ERP system to ensure 100%+ inventory accuracy.
- Deliver material to production lines.
- Organize and maintain general storage areas.
- Perform shift pre-inspections as outlined by OSHA on all material handling equipment.
- Bring empty dunnage to the EOL area and move full racks from EOL to the warehouse.
- Ensure production areas are fully stocked prior to end of shift relief.
- Rotate all material to ensure 100% first-in, first-out (FIFO) per daily FIFO requirements.
- Support plant-wide material organization and housekeeping goals.
- Observe and report maintenance issues on forklift, including shift assessments.
- Maintain forklift certification, and attend update training, as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with company and 5S standards.
- Consistently follow PPE requirements, safety guidelines, and inventory control procedures.
- Perform other duties, as required.
Knowledge/Education/Work Experience
- At least 3 year of experience operating a forklift, prefer experience with sit-downs and tugger trains.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive
- Must have flexibility in schedule to ensure duties are completed within time frame
- Must be able to stand on feet at least 8 hours per day and perform physical tasks including lifting to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and frequent bending, squatting, and reaching.
