Job Description

About Marvell

Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

As a Mechanical Engineer with Marvell, you’ll be a member of the Multi Business Engieering group. You’ll be part of the evaluation board engineering team designing boards for many different groups at Marvell.
Additionally, Marvell is designing more complex XPU and XPU attachment chips and boards than our competitors, for higher speeds than anyone else. We’re on the leading edge of this technology and you’ll love being a part of this.

What You Can Expect

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience supporting electronics and PCB‑centric mechanical designs. This role focuses on mechanical design of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) elements and integration of PCBAs, enclosure design, electronics cooling, and close collaboration with electrical engineering teams (HW, ECAD, power and ASIC physical design). The ideal candidate brings solid mechanical and thermal fundamentals, hands‑on development experience, and fluency in ECAD‑MCAD collaboration workflows.  A good command of English and team member spirit is a must.

Area of Emphasis

  • PCB mechanical integration and PCBA assembly
  • SolidWorks‑based mechanical design and documentation
  • ECAD–MCAD collaboration using DXF and IDF exchange
  • Application of GD&T on electronic related mechanical parts
  • Socket design
  • Electronics cooling and thermal design with CFD tools, heatsink design and fan selection

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and enclosures for electronic systems and assemblies
  • Support PCB and PCBA mechanical design, including board outlines, mounting schemes, keep‑out zones, and connector interfaces and most importantly socket integration on a PCB
  • Perform ECAD–MCAD data exchange using DXF, IDF, or similar formats to prevent mechanical interface issues of the components
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks, applying appropriate GD&T
  • Design and validate mechanical PCBA assemblies, including fasteners, stiffeners, shields, and cable management
  • Develop thermal management solutions for electronic systems, including airflow and liquid cooling-based designs, heat sinks, cold plates and thermal interfaces by utilizing CFD tools
  • Select and integrate cooling fans based on thermal requirements, acoustic targets, reliability, and system constraints
  • Support prototype builds, debug mechanical and thermal issues, and drive design improvements
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, manufacturing, test, and supplier teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Ensure designs meet reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with at least 9+ years or Master’s degree with 7+ year experience.
  • Strong experience with SolidWorks for part and assembly design
  • Practical knowledge of PCB mechanical design and PCBA integration
  • Experience with DXF and IDF exchange between ECAD and MCAD tools
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drawings for production
  • Thermal analysis and simulation experience for cooling solutions of high-power semiconductors, including heat sink design, liquid cooling systems, and airflow optimization.
  • Expertise in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools such as Ansys Icepak and Ansys FEA.
  • Deep understanding of Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs), heat spreaders, and advanced packaging materials.
  • Hands‑on experience with prototypes, mechanical assemblies, and lab evaluation
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers or overseas suppliers
  • Experience with sheet metal, CNC machining, die casting, or plastics used in electronic enclosures

Additional Compensation and Benefit Elements

With competitive compensation and great benefits, you will enjoy our workstyle within an environment of shared collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity. We’re dedicated to giving our people the tools and resources they need to succeed in doing work that matters, and to grow and develop with us.
