Office Assistant - Patient Financial Services

Nebraska Medicine is currently accepting applications for a talented individual to join our team as an Office Assistant. This role is ideal for someone who possesses strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing excellent administrative support. They will be working at our East Campus Corporate Pavillion located at 33rd and Farnam.

The Operations Office Assistant is a flexible role involving various responsibilities. They manage correspondence and mailing for the Operations Team, which includes sorting and mailing paper claims, mailing refunds, pulling and mailing documents from Work from Home folders, and distributing correspondence and returned mail to team members. High-priority tasks involve efficient handling of BCBS Letters and mailing claims. This role requires adaptability and versatility in performing these tasks as needed.

Duties: Office Assistant

Serve as receptionist for assigned department(s) for internal and external customers. Provide clerical and general office support for departmental operations. Support external customers, such as patients and their families, as primary responsibility. Support department or office as secondary responsibility.

Required Qualifications: Office Assistant
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Proficient with computers to include keyboarding, basic navigation and use of email applications required.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in verbal and written form required.
• Ability to multi-task required.
• Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to management as appropriate required.
• Ability to work with multi-line phone system required.
• Ability to communicate effectively during escalated situations required.

Preferred Qualifications: Office Assistant
• Prior experience working with customers or patients preferred.
• Experience with Telecommunication system, ComputerLog books, and schedules preferred.
• Experience with general office materials/equipment preferred.
