This Senior Engineer – FEA role will support product development for orthopaedic implants and instruments for Acumed by performing advanced simulation and analysis.In this role, you will be responsible for developing and validating finite element models, correlating simulation results with real-world testing, and providing engineering insights to support design optimization. You will work closely with global engineering teams and follow best practices, engineering standards, and regulatory expectations relevant to medical devices.
Mandatory Skills:
• 4+ years of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably in implants, medical devices or precision engineering domains
• Strong experience in structural analysis (linear & nonlinear simulations)
• Experience with ANSYS (Workbench & Classic); APDL knowledge is an added advantage
• Proficiency in FE meshing techniques and model setup
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpretation skills
• Good communication and ability to work in a global engineering environment.
Desired Skills:
• Experience in orthopaedic implant simulation under physiological loading conditions and validation
• Strong understanding of:
o Material, geometric, and contact nonlinearities
o Fatigue analysis and life prediction
• Experience in modal, harmonic, transient, implicit & explicit analysis
• Knowledge of ISO & ASTM standards related to medical devices
• Familiarity with FDA / EU medical device regulations
• Experience in correlation of simulation results with experimental and lab testing data
• Exposure to fatigue & fracture mechanics
• Understanding of test methods and validation approaches for implants
• Ability to generate high-quality technical reports and presentations
• Working knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks / SpaceClaim)
• Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with design, testing, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform FEA simulations to support product design and development of orthopaedic implants
• Translate real-world loading and boundary conditions into accurate simulation models
• Develop and validate FE models for linear, nonlinear, and dynamic simulations
• Correlate simulation results with laboratory testing and experimental data
• Provide design recommendations based on simulation insights
• Generate and present high quality CAE analysis reports with actionable insights to stakeholders
• Support development of CAE methodologies and best practices
• Collaborate with global teams across design, testing, quality and regulatory functions
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills while adapting to dynamic project priorities and working independently or within teams

• Build leadership by mentoring junior engineers, improving processes, and driving data-based decision-making across global teams.

Required Qualifications
• Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, (or equivalent work experience) with 4 -6 Years (Min 3 Yrs exp in projects working with global teams preferred)
• A seasoned, result-oriented engineer who can work independently once given direction, has good rapport with coworkers, can listen, be creative, and is detailed oriented.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality engineering outcomes
• Good communication and collaboration skills with exposure to working in cross-functional or global team environments.
• Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies, tools, and testing methods.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing project priorities and business needs.
• Willing to travel within or outside India as and when needed (about 5% of travelling per year)
