About the role:
At Gartner, we’re searching for passionate and versatile senior software engineer to join our User Platform (UPT) team. As a member of UPT, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping how our clients securely access Gartner’s web, mobile, and internal platforms—including G.com, Tools, GPI, and more. Our team is at the heart of authentication and authorization, leveraging industry-standard protocols like OAuth and SAML to ensure a seamless and secure user experience.

What you will do:
Build and maintain backend services using Java Spring or similar J2EE frameworks.
Design and implement RESTful APIs/microservices, and work across the full stack to deliver robust web applications.
Write efficient SQL queries and manage data effectively.
Work with Authentication and Authorization protocols like OAuth, SAML
Develop engaging, responsive user interfaces with ReactJS or similar JavaScript frameworks, and HTML/CSS.
Take ownership of your work, ensuring successful and timely delivery.
Thrive in a fast-paced Agile/Kanban environment, collaborating closely with teammates.
Follow best coding practices, and create thorough unit and integration tests, as well as deployment scripts.
Help define and improve software architecture, working with technical leads to identify opportunities for enhancement.
Continuously seek ways to improve the user experience, software architecture, or adopt new technologies.
Leverage your experience with open-source technologies and applications.
What you will need:
4+ years of experience building customer-facing web applications.
4+ years working with Java Spring or similar J2EE frameworks.
Good understanding of Authentication and Authorization frameworks
Deep understanding of RESTful API principles and security best practices.
Solid experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing.
Strong skills in front-end development (JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS) are a plus.
Bonus points if you have experience with Docker, Any cloud AWS/GCP/Azure, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, or Kubernetes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for learning, including DevOps and new technologies.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required
Excellent communication and prioritization skills.
Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions.
Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies.
