We are seeking an intern to join our Passenger Vehicle Department for Summer 2026 who doesn't just study the automotive industry — they live and breathe it. Key responsibilities include enhancing our vehicle identification process and analyzing the latest automotive market trends to support residual value analysis. But beyond the technical work, what sets the right candidate apart is an authentic, deep-rooted passion for cars. We're looking for someone who reads automotive press for fun, has strong opinions on OEM strategies, and can speak fluently about what's happening across the global vehicle landscape.
The ideal candidate combines that enthusiasm with strong analytical capability, exceptional collaboration skills, and meticulous attention to detail. You'll report to and work closely with RVI's Passenger Vehicle Team, where your automotive knowledge won't just be appreciated, it will be essential to the quality and insight of the work we deliver.
How You'll Contribute:
Collect and process external data to support current market value, residual value forecast assessment, vehicle identification process, and assigned research topic
Analyze vehicle performance, features, technologies, and historical data to support residual value assessments
Monitor industry news, technological innovations, and evolving consumer preferences across OEMs, electric vehicles, and mobility solutions in various markets, with a strong understanding of vehicle performance and features, emerging technologies, and consumer adoption trends
Conduct research and present findings on internship project
Collaborate with quantitative analysis team to align residual value inputs and assumptions
Research Project:
Vehicle Identification Database Enhancements
The position will assist in enhancing the Current Market Value (CMV) and residual value forecast processes by providing support on vehicle identification process improvement. This role will review data and provide recommendations for enhancing our existing vehicle identification process.
Collect, clean, and standardize vehicle specifications and attributes from market sources
Develop structured data formats to support vehicle identification, VIN decoding, vehicle make, model, and model year mapping
Support the creation and maintenance of vehicle segmentation and comparable vehicles tables for global markets
Track new model launches and mid-cycle updates across global markets
Flag and remove vehicle models that have been discontinued from database tables
Perform data audits and resolve discrepancies across multiple data sources
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through validation
What We're Looking For:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Automotive Management, Statistics, or a related field
- Strong interest in cars and the automotive industry in general, with some knowledge of current trends, emerging technologies, OEM strategies, and vehicle performance and features
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel or other data tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Programming skill is a plus
- Excellent grammar, written and spoken communication skills in English
