Job Description:

Sr. Manager Cloud Infrastructure Implementation (Global Data Center Programs)

Location: Galway Ireland

Type: Permanent, Full time

Manager, Private Cloud & Data Center Implementation (Global Delivery)

The Manager, Private Cloud & Data Center Implementation leads a global delivery organization responsible for executing multi-site private cloud and data center programs, including new builds, expansions, cloud migrations, and data center exit/consolidation initiatives, as well as building infrastructure systems to support enterprise ERP workloads (e.g., SAP). This role manages a portfolio of concurrent programs through multiple Program Managers and directs teams of engineers and architects to deliver standardized, secure, and operationally ready infrastructure outcomes across regions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a global team of Program Managers and cross-domain engineering/architecture teams (compute, storage, network, security, operations), setting clear goals, coaching, and performance expectations.

  • Own the delivery portfolio for private cloud and data center programs, including prioritization, sequencing, and capacity planning across regions and time zones.

  • Establish and enforce standard delivery governance: operating rhythm, scope/change control, RAID management, milestone accountability, and executive-ready reporting.

  • Partner with architecture and engineering leadership to define reference designs, implementation standards, and reusable playbooks for site readiness, build, migration, cutover, rollback, and hypercare.

  • Drive delivery of infrastructure platforms for enterprise ERP workloads (e.g., SAP), including environment build/refresh, performance and capacity planning, security controls, and HA/DR readiness across regions.

  • Own resource strategy and budgeting across the portfolio (headcount, contractors, vendors), ensuring accurate forecasts, demand planning, and cost controls.

  • Drive end-to-end delivery readiness for go-lives and migrations, ensuring service readiness, operational handoff, runbook quality, and post-cutover stabilization.

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex delivery issues, risks, and cross-team dependencies; remove blockers and facilitate timely decisions.

  • Manage key stakeholders and customers, including executive communications, expectation management, and alignment on outcomes, timelines, and tradeoffs.

  • Oversee vendor delivery where applicable (hardware providers, cabling/field services, systems integrators), ensuring contracted outcomes, quality, and compliance.

  • Define and track delivery KPIs (schedule adherence, migration success rates, change failure rate, post-cutover incidents, cost and productivity metrics) and lead continuous improvement via retrospectives and lessons learned.

  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and change management requirements, partnering with InfoSec, risk, and operations teams.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of experience delivering large-scale infrastructure programs (data center, private cloud, and/or cloud migration/transformation), including multi-site/global delivery.

  • Experience delivering infrastructure programs supporting ERP workloads (e.g., SAP), including end-to-end environment readiness, sizing/capacity planning, and coordination across application, database, OS, and infrastructure teams.

  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing Program Managers and technical teams (engineers/architects) in a matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrated experience owning a program portfolio with financial accountability (budgeting, forecasting, vendor spend, and resource planning).

  • Required certifications: PMP (PMI) (or PgMP for senior candidates) and ITIL Foundation (or higher).

  • Preferred certifications: SAFe/Agile (e.g., SAFe Agilist, CSM/PSM), cloud/platform (e.g., Azure/AWS/GCP associate–professional level), security (e.g., Security+, CISSP), and SAP infrastructure-related credentials (e.g., SAP technology/operations).

  • Experience leading data center exit/consolidation and enterprise migrations, including discovery, dependency mapping, cutover planning, and decommissioning.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep understanding of infrastructure delivery across compute/servers, enterprise storage, networking, and security; able to translate technical constraints into delivery plans and tradeoffs.

  • Proven operating model for portfolio/program governance (IMS, RAID, change control, executive reviews, decision logs) and driving accountability at scale.

  • Strong people leadership: hiring, mentoring, performance management, and building a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication; skilled at escalations, negotiation, and expectation-setting with customers and senior leaders.

  • Experience with service readiness and operational handoff; ability to partner with operations on monitoring, incident response, and steady-state ownership.

  • Vendor and partner management skills, including SOW development, delivery oversight, and performance measurement.

  • Strong tooling literacy (MS Project/Smartsheet), issue tracking (Jira), and documentation (Confluence/SharePoint); able to standardize templates and reporting across teams.

  • Willingness to travel globally up to 20% to support key customer sites and program milestones.
