About the role

Ecolab’s Global High Tech business is expanding, and we’re looking for a Senior Account Manager to partner with our data centre customers across Sydney and Canberra, driving both account management and business development.
In this pivotal role, you’ll be the face of Ecolab for some of the largest and most innovative data centre operators, helping them protect critical infrastructure through world‑class water treatment solutions. You’ll combine technical curiosity with commercial acumen to manage and grow key accounts, deliver trusted expertise, and uncover new opportunities—all while helping shape the future of sustainable water management.
What You’ll Do:
Own and grow a portfolio of major data centre clients, building strong, long‑term partnerships.
Drive proactive business development, identifying new opportunities, expanding solution adoption, and developing strategies to grow market share
Maintain, optimise, and troubleshoot water treatment programs to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Conduct regular site surveys, technical reviews, and business reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Work closely with engineering, service, and operations teams to deliver seamless solutions.
Ensure high standards of documentation, compliance, reporting, and service delivery.
Support and supervise service technicians when needed.
Identify and lead new project rollouts and business growth opportunities.
Manage your time and territory independently while collaborating with business leaders and specialist teams.
What You’ll Bring:
Senior-level experience in account management and business development, ideally within a technical or engineering environment.
Background in mechanical or chemical engineering, HVAC, or similar technical fields.
Water treatment experience is a plus—but not required. We’ll provide full training.
Exposure to data centres is valued but not essential.
Excellent communication skills—from site operations teams to senior executives.
Strong organisation, documentation, and detail orientation, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
A proactive, methodical approach and a desire to learn new technical concepts.
Mechanical aptitude, especially around HVAC, pumps, flow control, or industrial systems.
