What you’ll do
We are looking for Backend or Windows Software Engineers to build elegant products on world-class technologies that bring our experience to millions of restaurateurs, anytime and anywhere. You will solve hard problems in distributed systems, workflows, compilers, big data, query optimization, storage, networking, or more.
In particular, we are seeking engineers with experience developing Windows-based systems such as POS clients, payment modules, or VAN (Value Added Network) integrations.
You’ll work with technologies including .NET Framework, C#, and Java, alongside Python, Go, C++, and TypeScript.
You will leverage open-source and proprietary technologies and use languages including Java, Python, Go, C++, TypeScript, and more. You will build and operate services with world-class availability, performance, and scalability. We have openings for Backend Software Engineers across teams on all parts of the engineering vertical, from customer-facing product teams to engineering-driven infrastructure teams.
Responsabilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Frontend Engineers to conceptualize and build new features for our growing customer base.
- Produce high-quality code by leading or contributing to large cross-functional projects that impact and drive business success.
- Actively own features or systems and define their long-term health, keeping scalability at the forefront of technical designs.
- Assist our skilled operations and business teams in triaging and resolving production issues.
- Work with other engineers from various teams across verticals and review code.
- Improve our engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
What we’re looking for
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry software engineering experience developing and operating complex systems using common language(s) such as Java, Python, Go, C++, and TypeScript.
- 3+ years of experience developing Windows applications or system-level software using .NET Framework and C#.
- Experience with POS, VAN, or payment module integration is strongly preferred.
- Strong communicator who can explain complex topics to not only other engineers but also designers, product managers, and support.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, threading, distributed systems, information retrieval, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
- A love for good food.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the full life cycle of software development, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
- Experience working with distributed systems and making technical architecture decisions.
- Windows systems engineering experience required (including .NET Framework, Windows Services, or WPF/WCF).
- Familiarity with backend development using Java, Go, or Python is a plus.
- Preference will be given to those with development experience related to AI or LLM
- An appetite to help shape best engineering practices at an early-stage startup.
