About the RoleAt Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, our Advanced Practice Providers play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families facing cancer. In this position, you’ll work with pediatric and/or adult patients across different stages of care—from prevention and early detection to treatment and survivorship.
This is more than a clinical role—it’s an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, provide education and support, and help guide patients through some of the most important moments in their lives.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Provide comprehensive care, including health promotion, cancer prevention, and treatment support
Assess and manage both acute and chronic health conditions
Educate patients and their families to help them better understand their care and next steps
Offer counseling and emotional support during all phases of care
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create coordinated care plans
Connect patients with additional providers and community resources when needed

For Advanced Practice Provider II (Grade 30):
At least 2 years of full-time Advanced Practice Provider experience in oncology, cancer care, or a comparable acute care setting is required
Compensation & Benefits
Advanced Practice Provider I (Grade 28): Starting at $121,038 annually
Advanced Practice Provider II (Grade 30): Starting at $133,124 annually
Includes a geographic differential and a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceNurse Practitioner Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
2. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and
3. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and
4. Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing.
NOTE:
As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.
OR
Physician Assistant Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and
2. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and
3. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or
4. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.
