Description
As a Data Engineer at Monks, you'll have the opportunity to grow and contribute to exciting projects by helping to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and cloud infrastructure. The data engineer should have a strong foundational understanding of cloud environment, data pipelines, data cleansing, and basic data warehousing. Ideally, you possess a foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, allowing you to bridge the gap between engineering and advanced marketing analytics applications. This Netherlands-based role requires supporting the Data Strategy team with a major Netherlands client. Responsibilities
- Develop data pipelines and solutions across cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
- Support the authentication and integration of platform APIs and help automate an end to end ETL processes for data integration and transformation.
- Participate and collaborate in the design and implementation of data models and data warehouses.
- Develop data transformation recipes that efficiently transform raw data into structured formats suitable for data warehousing.
- Support and maintain with the documentation for data models, including architecture diagrams, schema, definitions, and metadata.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines’ issues to ensure timely data availability.
- Collaborate with the data science team to integrate and build ML models and Gen-AI applications.
- Possess good data literacy and understand how technical data applications create business value.
- Communicate progress and findings to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor or Masters in a quantitative subject such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 1+ years of working experience in data science or data engineering or a related field.
- Associate Cloud Certification such as GCP Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer or any equivalent.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Expertise in authenticating and authorising API requests using methods such as OAuth and API keys and troubleshooting common API-related challenges.
- Solid understanding of data structures and databases.
- Good understanding of data modeling concepts and tools such as dbt or Dataform.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts and experience with tools like Amazon Redshift or Google BigQuery.
- Familiarity with data privacy principles and best practices.
- Fluent English communication and written skills.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Data Science.
- Professional Cloud Certification.
- Experience with CI/CD and version control tools.
- Familiarity with marketing analytics tools and data (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
