EDUCATION • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable • Degree in finance or other relevant field CERTIFICATIONS WORK EXPERIENCE • Financial services industry experience in markets and securities services or related disciplines • Knowledge of trade settlement systems and regulatory requirements • Working knowledge of Swift / ISO payment formatting FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • Understanding of the market industry and trade operations • Experience with managing reconciliations, controls and settlements • Practical expertise with commonly used treasury service tools or techniques • Basic experience with central clearing counterparties and settlement systems • Exposure to market and trade products as well as banking regulatory environment a plus • Proficiency with relevant business software FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS • Communicates effectively • Identifies multiple paths to success using analytical and critical thinking as well as decision-making skills • Exercises sound judgement, prioritizes effectively, and strives for continuous improvement • Effectively collaborates with colleagues • Leverages available technology to drive efficiency and results • Understands and applies industry trends and best practices • Exhibits optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness to others' ideas • Values learning as a lifelong professional objective • Engages inclusively and with intent • Always acts with integrity RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsibilities include post-trade execution of Market and Treasury transactions. The Settlement Associate / Assistant Vice President: • Accurately clears and settles all trading activity while observing established cut-off time for relevant currencies and locations • Ensures efficient settlement via relevant systems • Interacts with clients, trading counterparties, and dealer banks to verify and confirm economics and settlement instructions on trades • Ensures that all trading processes and documents comply with relevant regulatory requirements • Processes incoming and outgoing wires • Manages client allocations • Conducts deal checking, system-to-system reconciliations, and break resolution to settle executed trades • Reconciles funds to settle all transactions and investigates unallocated or non-received funds to ensure proper balance and controls • Verifies and validates trades • Prepares settlement and receipt reports and escalates outstanding confirmations as necessary • Responds to trading, settlement and audit queries • Remediates settlement issues • Contributes to the continuous improvement of settlement processes and procedures • Prepares daily/monthly reports • Reviews and approves margin calls across multiple asset classes • Maintains eligibility criteria and customer account master static data as per the terms and conditions of executed documentation • Actions margin transfers on behalf of Tokyo Head Office • Prepares daily/monthly reports • Resolves Mark-to-Market discrepancies on collateralized portfolios • Confirms and verifies of agreed Collateral with Counterparties • Communicates with Front Office Business Partners regarding trade booking discrepancies and settlement inquiries • Manages off-shore teams responsible for processing • Verifies and approves work performed by Analysts • Serves as subject matter experts for new initiatives and testing for new projects, alongside the Vice Presidents • Utilizes expertise to resolve escalated issues
