About the role:
As a Lead, Capability Experience Designer, you will design human-centered experiences that help colleagues build capabilities, adopt new behaviors and perform effectively in their roles. You will translate complex business and capability needs into intuitive, accessible and scalable experiences that fit naturally within colleague workflows.

Working across learning, workforce design, performance, digital adoption and change initiatives, you will research colleague needs, map journeys, prototype solutions and use experience signals to continuously improve. You will also use AI to enhance how you work and design AI-enabled experiences that help colleagues adopt new ways of working.

What you will be doing:

  • Design human-centered capability experiences that help colleagues build skills, adopt new behaviors and improve performance.
  • Translate business and capability needs into clear experience journeys, workflows, prototypes and scalable enablement solutions.
  • Conduct user research and identify colleague needs, behaviors, pain points and barriers to adoption.
  • Prototype and test experience concepts, using colleague feedback, adoption data and performance signals to guide iteration.
  • Design prompts, tools, routines and workflow interventions that support behavior and habit formation.
  • Create connected experiences across enterprise platforms, learning technologies, digital adoption tools and moments that matter.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research, synthesis, ideation, prototyping and solution development.
  • Design AI-enabled experiences and human-plus-AI workflows that balance automation with appropriate human judgment.
  • Partner across learning, workforce design, performance, digital adoption, change and technology to deliver cohesive experiences.
  • Ensure experiences are accessible, inclusive, intuitive and consistent with enterprise standards.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human-centered design, user experience design, learning sciences, psychology, business, technology, information systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience applying human-centered design, user experience, service design or learning experience design principles to practical solutions.
  • Ability to translate business or capability needs into experience journeys, workflows, prototypes and scalable enablement solutions.
  • Experience conducting user research, testing concepts and using qualitative and quantitative signals to improve designs.
  • Working knowledge of journey mapping, prototyping, behavioral design, usability, accessibility and inclusive design.
  • Experience using AI tools to support research, analysis, ideation, content development or prototyping, with the ability to evaluate outputs and apply human judgment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint and Copilot, as well as learning or digital adoption platforms and other design tools/systems.
  • Ability to interpret experience, adoption or performance data using Excel, Power BI or comparable tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain design decisions, influence stakeholders and constructively challenge assumptions.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, manage multiple priorities and iterate quickly in an evolving environment.
  • A portfolio or work examples demonstrating research, experience design, prototyping, testing and iteration.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience supporting workforce enablement, organizational transformation, performance improvement or change initiatives.
  • Experience designing capability experiences across multiple enterprise systems, channels or colleague touchpoints.
  • Familiarity with Workday Learning, Arist, Whatfix, Reejig or comparable learning and digital adoption platforms.
  • Experience designing AI-enabled learning, enablement or performance-support experiences.
  • Familiarity with agentic or automated workflows and appropriate human review points.
