WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT FOR US:

The Senior Manager, Operational Finance is a senior leadership role within the Operational Finance team, responsible for managing financial operations across the US and Canada, leading process improvements, and ensuring robust compliance with financial regulations and company policies in close coordination with regional teams and collaboration with a Shared Services Center in the Philippines to deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes at scale.

You will work across functions to connect financial operations with corporate strategy and broader business goals, guide senior-level decisions, and drive the adoption of innovative systems, automation, and AI-enabled tools that increase efficiency, control, and data quality.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Oversee Financial Operations: Own and oversee financial operations across the US and Canada, including AP, AR, end‑to‑end payroll, cash management, banking activities, and month‑end close. Ensure operations are robust, scalable, and audit‑ready, reflecting the complexity of multi‑entity, multi‑regulatory environments. Act as final escalation point for high‑risk or judgment‑heavy items impacting financial statements or compliance, while ensuring operational finance effectively supports business execution.

Financial Reporting & Control: Oversee preparation and quality of financial statements and management reports in line with IFRS/US GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Drive measurable improvements in balance sheet quality, reconciliations, documentation, and close discipline. Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities that inform senior management decision‑making and business outcomes.

Audit, Statutory & Regulatory Leadership: Lead external audits, statutory reporting, and regulatory interactions across the US and Canada. Own audit readiness and remediation, streamlining processes to reduce recurring audit issues and manual effort. Coordinate closely with Tax, Legal, Payroll, and external advisors across jurisdictions to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant outcomes.

People Leadership: Lead and develop two regional Operational Finance teams (US & CA) while partnering closely with the Philippines Shared Service Center. Build and empower an effective team by mentoring, training, and developing finance professionals within the operational finance function. Set direction, provide strategic input, inspire growth, and ensure the team’s capabilities and succession readiness evolve to meet future business needs.

Process Excellence, Automation & AI Adoption: Identify and drive process simplification, automation, and AI‑enabled improvements across transactional finance, reconciliations, and reporting. Collaborate with Finance Systems and IT teams on ERP enhancements (e.g., SAP, Workday). Lead efforts to streamline workflows, enhance control frameworks, reduce process inefficiencies, and mitigate key‑person dependencies within operational finance.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Strategic Contribution: Collaborate closely with Controlling, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Commercial Finance, and Enterprise Systems to ensure data consistency and alignment across finance processes. Act as an escalation point and influencer in complex cross‑functional interactions. Support financial planning activities and represent Operational Finance in initiatives with material financial, operational, or compliance implications. Prepare and present operational finance reporting and insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic decision‑making.

Financial Performance & Risk Management: Monitor and act on KPIs and financial metrics related to accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, compliance, and control effectiveness. Early identify and mitigate financial and operational risks through effective preventive and detective controls. Translate complex operational and financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior finance leadership.

Type of Work You’ll Engage In

  • North America Operational Finance Leadership: Strategic oversight paired with direct issue resolution across complex, regulated environments, ensuring operational finance supports broader business objectives.
  • Cross‑Border & Cross‑Regional Coordination: Ongoing collaboration across US, Canada, APAC (SSC), and EMEA stakeholders to deliver consistent outcomes at scale.
  • Audit‑Intensive & Risk‑Heavy Areas: First‑year audits, multi‑entity structures, regulatory approvals, and high‑judgment accounting and compliance areas.
  • Finance Transformation & AI Enablement: Supporting automation, workflow optimization, system improvements, and intelligent controls in a SaaS environment.
  • Reporting, Analysis & Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Regular preparation and presentation of operational finance insights to senior leaders, auditors, and external partners.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Operational Finance, Controllership, or Finance Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading US and Canadian finance operations, including payroll, audits, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience with finance operations in SaaS or FinTech company
  • Practical exposure to ERP systems such as Workday and SAP
  • Experience inheriting and stabilizing complex operational finance environments following leadership or organizational transitions
  • Prior people management experience, including cross‑regional or SSC‑supported teams.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and multi-entity finance environments.
  • Experience leading process improvements, automation, or AI adoption in finance.
