About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Balance Sheet Management Manager
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team responsible for low to moderate complexity analytics on matters related to balance sheet management, including measuring and managing risk arising from mismatch of liquidity and cash flow profiles of assets and liabilities
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of global market conditions, liquidity risk management, foreign exchange risk management, and interest risk management
- Ensure data quality, establish controlled processes and identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement
- Participate in industry and peer groups to influence the standard setting process
- Make decisions and resolve issues on framework to deliver management of assets and liabilities to meet business objectives
- Lead implementation of complex projects and initiatives impacting one or more lines of business to achieve objectives
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and multiple level managers to implement key risk initiatives to ensure compliance and manage risk
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Treasury
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of banking balance sheets, interest rate risk, and ALM concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to work with quantitative models, complex datasets, and analytical outputs.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global environment.
- Prior hands-on exposure to QRM or similar ALM modeling platforms.
- Strong Python skills for analytics, automation, or model prototyping.
- Exposure to AI / ML techniques applied to financial analytics, risk measurement, or forecasting.
- Experience building analytical tools, dashboards, or scalable data-driven solutions.
- Knowledge of regulatory stress testing (e.g., CCAR, recovery and resolution).
- CFA, FRM, or progress toward a relevant professional certification.
Job Expectations:
- Manage and develop a team responsible for complex ALM analytics, including interest rate risk (IRR), balance sheet forecasting, valuation (NII, EVE, duration), and stress testing.
- Support measurement and monitoring of risks arising from mismatches in liquidity, cash flows, repricing characteristics, and behavioral assumptions across assets and liabilities.
- Provide analytical insights to support ALCO, senior Treasury leadership, and risk committees, including interpretation of scenario results and emerging balance sheet risks.
- Work closely with ALM modeling frameworks and engines (e.g., QRM or equivalent) and partner with model, risk, and technology teams to support robust analytical outcomes.
- Make decisions and resolve issues on framework to deliver management of assets and liabilities to meet business objectives
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and multiple level managers to implement key risk initiatives to ensure compliance and manage risk
- Review, interpret, and explain model outputs, assumptions, and sensitivities to support informed balance sheet and risk management decisions.
- Drive adoption of Python-based analytics and automation to improve efficiency, scalability, and analytical depth across BSIRRM deliverables.
- Leverage advanced analytical techniques, including AI / ML where appropriate, for use cases such as anomaly detection, forecasting enhancements, or analytical process improvements.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and multiple levels of management across Treasury, Finance, Risk, Technology, and Lines of Business to deliver integrated ALM outcomes.
- Lead implementation of complex analytical initiatives and enhancements impacting one or more Treasury or risk functions.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of analysts and associates, including mentoring, talent development, and hiring.
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to meet priorities across BAU analytics and strategic initiatives.
