POSITION SUMMARY:    

A food manufacturing organization is looking to appoint an EHS Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for aligning site specific Environmental Health and Safety processes with business goals and to engage employees to promote behaviors that will achieve the highest levels of productivity in the safest possible manner. The incumbent will establish, implement, and oversee all EHS programs. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

 

  • Align corporate and local EHS goals and strategies 
  • Lead EHS audits and inspections, developing remediation plans as needed 
  • Lead multi-media environmental compliance including, but not limited to: Water (waste, storm); Waste (hazardous and non-hazardous); Air (external emissions) 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiative regarding EHS policies and programs 
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations 
  • Lead employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance  
  • Complete accident investigations and serious incident reports 
  • Recommend corrective/preventative measures where indicated 
  • Interact with regulatory bodies and represent the company at local, state, and federal regulatory meetings 
  • Determine the need for industrial hygiene monitoring (air, noise, heat stress, etc.) and conduct the monitoring or coordinate the monitoring with the appropriate agency 
  • Review the results of industrial hygiene sampling and compare to established regulatory limits 
  • Participate in Quality Assurance reviews within the facility 
  • Assist in 3rd party audits and inspections pertaining to food safety and regulatory compliance 
  • Manage emergency management programs 
  • Manage safety budget 
  • Develop and drive a safety committee team
