Job Description:
Medical assisting duties include patient triage, vital signs, patient history, EKG, injections, and using the electronic health record.
Essential Functions:
Obtains medical history, triage patients, record vitals
Reconciles medication list in EHR
Gives injections per physician order (i.e. Hepatitis A&B, PPD and flu vaccine)
Reports any abnormal results to physician immediately (i.e. labs, etc.)
Responds timely and appropriately to tasks
Maintains clean exam rooms
Adheres to organizational policy and procedure
Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Job Description:
Education:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
Experience:
Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office (preferred).
Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience (preferred).
Certification:
Must complete CMA or RMA certification within 90 days of employment (required).
BLS through American Heart Association (required).
