Volunteer Outreach Internship
The Volunteer Outreach Intern serves as a representative of YAI within the community, supporting the charge in recruiting and onboarding volunteers and executing community engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Serve as a representative of YAI in the community by communicating the organization’s mission, vision, and volunteer opportunities across the regions YAI supports.
Support the recruitment, screening, and onboarding processes for new volunteers.
Coordinate and execute volunteer events and initiatives for individuals, groups, and corporate partners, acting as a liaison to ensure meaningful and well-supported volunteer experiences.
Assist with the creation of monthly Volunteer Newsletters, social media content, and volunteer appreciation initiatives.
Maintain accurate volunteer records and manage data in Salesforce.
Provide occasional support to YAI’s HR Department by taking on additional meaningful projects as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a college, university, or certificate program*
Undergraduate or graduate level student preferred
Stellar organizational skills
Passion for helping others and an interest in intellectual and developmental disabilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Creativity and flexibility in working on various projects
Ability to work autonomously and complete projects independently, collaboratively, and cross departmentally
Can quickly learn new technology systems like Salesforce, and have a high level of comfort with Microsoft Office and Google Apps
Interest in exploring the non-profit sector
*This is an unpaid internship opportunity that is only open to current students. The internship may be able to satisfy college credit if approved by the student's school
