Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Systems Integration and Test Engineer to join the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team on the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Site 1 program (DS1). As a Software Integration and Test Engineer you will be a key member of the team responsible for Integration and Testing of the system. This role will be reporting to the I&T lead and work collaboratively with other functional disciplines. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge of Software Integration and Testing, troubleshooting, and problem reporting. The most successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced dynamic role.
This role has extensive travel to OCONUS and CONUS locations at around 50% of the time. When not on travel, this position is in Colorado Springs, CO.
Primary responsibilities for this position are related to the system integration, test, and re of high-precision tracking radar systems and associated electronic disciplines.
This role will be on-site daily when not at a site and will be supporting the Integration and Test for documentation including development of test procedures.
Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
Job Duties:
- Support early use operations on the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) radar system.
- Performs software testing on the DARC radar system.
- Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the integration and testing process.
- Support the development of system test solutions in accordance with project technical, schedule and cost constraints.
- Support early use training on DARC radar system.
- Assist team in development of innovative Test Automation solutions.
- Participate in, prepare and execute comprehensive system/element level test plans and procedures.
- Support system/element level test planning and test readiness reviews.
- Document test requirements and methodologies in the requirements management system.
- Review system engineering documentation to ensure test plans and methodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete.
- Reports to the system integration and test lead.
Basic Qualification
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or, 6 years with a Master’s Degree or 4 Years with a PhD in a STEM field from an accredited University or College
- Active Top-Secret clearance at the time of application, with SCI eligibility.
- Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or related languages
- Experience conducting formal requirement verification test procedures
- Willing to travel up to 50% internationally and domestically
- Experience in the development of software requirement verification procedures
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on missile defense, space tracking, and/or satellite operations experience (in lieu of degree)
Evidence of skills, knowledge or experience in at least two of the listed preferred qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hands-on missile defense, space tracking, and/or satellite operations
- Experience working as part of an Integration and Test team across multiple engineering disciplines
- Experience as a member of a team integrating large, complex systems comprised of diverse HW and SW elements
- Experience with large ground data processing systems integration
- Experience with radar processing algorithms or software integration
- Ability to support Integration and Test/Checkout (IATC) of Hardware and Software configuration items
- Ability to document and record integration activities, including plans, procedures, results, and deficiencies
- International integration and/or test experience
- Software development integration and test methodologies
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
