Role Description

The Head of India Security Operations leads the India-based Centre of Excellence team, ensuring seamless delivery of services to global FNZ technology functions.

This role is responsible for people management, compliance, and operational excellence, acting as the formal line manager under employment law. Partnering closely with global functional leaders to align local delivery of the strategy, standards and priorities.

As a cyber security leader the role will manage the day to day running of a new cyber security team based in India that supports global security engineering and operations; reporting to the FNZ Head of Security Technology and Operations.

The services include:

  • Cyber engineering, providing early problem management; patching/upgrades; request fulfilment; assessment of security dashboards; reporting; and technical cyber incident management support. Scope of services include SIEM, EDR, email security, identity platforms, WAF and Website defences

  • Application & Cloud security, providing reporting, vulnerability management and security assessment of cloud and client platforms

  • Security Operations, assessing 1st and 2nd line security alerts for escalation

  • Penetration Testing, supporting the engagement of 3rd party penetration testers, defect management, reporting and completion of pen tests

  • Identity Security, completion of access governance and recertification activities; and onboarding services to tools

The ideal candidate will have proven technical experience in at least 3 of these disciplines and has proven leadership skills in order to implement the culture of FNZ as well as driving innovation and resilience in our cybersecurity posture aligned with organisational goals

Specific responsibilities

Security Technology and Operations

  • Build and maintain a team to support and improve FNZ security services in line with strategy

  • Lead and mentor a cyber security specialists and engineers

  • Define goals and align priorities, ensuring a quality service for cyber security platforms

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement including use of automation

  • Oversee the operational activities of security tools – including F5 WAF, EDR, identity solutions, security logging and monitoring solutions, email security gateway, and vulnerability management

  • Collaborate with incident response teams

  • Support key projects that implement new tools and frameworks

 

People & Operations Management

  • Act as the formal line manager for India-based staff, ensuring compliance with Indian employment law and FNZ policies.

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, induction, and offboarding processes for India employees.

  • Manage day-to-day welfare, attendance, leave approvals, and local HR processes.

  • Conduct performance appraisals in partnership with the Global Functional Leader, consolidating feedback from both local and global perspectives.

  • Ensure statutory and policy compliance (e.g. Shops & Establishments Act, PoSH).

  • Maintain accurate HR records reflecting dual accountability (hard line to India manager, dotted line to functional leader).

 

Service Delivery & Functional Alignment

  • Ensure functional delivery from India aligns with global goals, standards, and priorities.

  • Represent India capabilities and workforce updates in functional leadership team meetings.

  • Manage service delivery KPIs and report on performance, risks, and achievements.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Serve as the first point of contact for India-based colleagues for day-to-day matters and escalation.

  • Collaborate with the Site Lead and global functional leaders to ensure integrated leadership and communication.

  • Participate in functional leadership meetings, ensuring full integration with global teams.

  • Cascade global priorities and localise key leadership messages for India-based teams.

 

Compliance & Legal

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Indian labour laws and statutory requirements.

  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to maintain current policies, training, and documentation.

  • Support the implementation and measurement of Intra-Group Agreements (IGA) governing service delivery.

 

Continuous Improvement & Culture

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous learning.

  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the CoE team.

  • Support employee engagement, welfare, and professional development.

 

 

 


Experience required

Cyber Technology and Operations

  • 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong expertise in IT and Security infrastructure

  • Previous experience of engineering in various domains of security engineering

  • Proven experience of aligning security engineering with security architecture
