What You’ll Do
The Pricing Data Analyst will play a key role in analyzing, optimizing, and maintaining pricing strategies across a diverse portfolio of automotive aftermarket products. This role combines data analytics, competitive research, and business insight to ensure pricing supports profitable growth, aligns with market conditions, and strengthens the company’s competitive position. A core emphasis is on SKU-level profitability, customer segment profitability, and leveraging 80/20 (Pareto) insights to prioritize efforts where the greatest financial impact exists. The analyst leads pricing audits, drives continuous improvement in pricing processes, and enables data-driven pricing decisions across the organization.
Pricing Analysis & Optimization
Analyze product pricing performance across multiple product categories, customers and channels, using 80/20 quad/quartile methodology
Evaluate margin performance, cost fluctuations, core charge trends, and discount structures.
Perform elasticity analyses to understand customer sensitivity to price changes across different channels (WDs, jobbers, retailers, eCommerce).
Identify opportunities for price improvement, SKU rationalization, and segment‑based pricing.
Data Management & Reporting
Gather and clean large datasets from ERP, PIM, POS, inventory, and competitive pricing platforms.
Maintain accurate pricing databases, including list prices, customer pricing, promotional rates, and rebates.
Build recurring dashboards and KPIs to track margin erosion, category profitability, cost changes, and competitive position.
Monitor pricing compliance, including MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) adherence.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
Conduct competitive pricing research across brick‑and‑mortar retailers, online marketplaces, and regional distributors.
Monitor aftermarket pricing trends, material cost changes, supply chain impacts, and catalog/fitment shifts.
Support new product introduction (NPI) pricing through market benchmarking and value positioning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Category Management to develop data-driven pricing decisions.
Provide pricing insights to support sales bids, promotional planning, and strategic customer negotiations.
Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
5–7 years of pricing or data analytics experience, preferably in automotive aftermarket, manufacturing, distribution, or retail.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
Understanding of cost structures (COGS, landed cost, freight, cores, tariffs).
Experience working with large SKU catalogs and high-volume data.
Ability to balance analytical rigor with practical business considerations.
Excellent communication and data storytelling capabilities.
Excel (advanced), Power BI, and statistical tools.
Experience with ERP (SAP/Oracle/Epicor/etc.) and aftermarket catalog systems (ACES/PIES) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automotive aftermarket pricing, category management, or competitive intelligence.
Familiarity with MAP policies, eCommerce pricing strategy, or omni-channel pricing.
Knowledge of ACES/PIES data standards and application/fitment-driven SKU structures.
Experience with machine learning models for demand or pricing optimization.
