The Occupational Health Nurse Technician is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.
Occupational Health Nurse Technician
The Occupational Health Nurse Technician supports workplace health, safety, and wellness programs by assisting with employee injury care, workers' compensation administration, and regulatory compliance activities. This role helps ensure a safe and healthy work environment while maintaining the confidentiality of employee health information.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Health Nurse with treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses within established protocols and scope of practice.
- Provide basic first aid and coordinate referrals for additional medical care when needed.
- Document treatments, maintain medical records, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Maintain clinic supplies, equipment, and first aid inventory.
- Support employee wellness programs, screenings, and health promotion activities.
- Assist with workers' compensation claims, return-to-work tracking, medical appointments, and case documentation.
- Support OSHA recordkeeping, drug screening programs, hearing conservation, and other occupational health initiatives.
- Track First Aid/CPR certifications and assist with health and safety training programs.
- Serve as a resource for employees and management regarding health, wellness, and safety concerns.
- Work a flexible schedule to support all shifts as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Actively licensed or certified in SC as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, and/or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Requires 1+ years of experience in a clinical, occupational health, or emergency medical setting.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping requirements and worker’s compensation processes preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems.
Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000 per year. We offer compensation that reflects experience, performance, and the value you bring to our team.
