Job Summary

Responsible for the development, localisation, quality assurance, and lifecycle management of Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC; including annotated, autosuggested and autonomous clinical coding content) within Solventum HIS products. Provides subject matter expertise in ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS, AR-DRG, nosology, regulatory advice, and alignment across Solventum platforms. Contributes to product release cycles, cross-product development, and customer-facing education to ensure CAC meets ANZ and international market needs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, localisation, and maintenance of CAC pathways and logic, ensuring alignment with ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS conventions and standards, and AR-DRG updates.
  • Employ natural language processing, automation, artificial intelligence and other emerging technical methodologies for development of CAC content, including utilisation of associated specialised software tools.
  • Coordinate release cycle activities for autosuggested and annotated clinical coding content, including What’s New documentation, release notes, run sheets, and cross-team readiness.
  • Provide clinical and nosology expertise to support classification updates, regulatory advice changes, terminology governance, and maintenance of national standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Clinical, and other Solventum 360 teams to ensure consistency, integration, and high-quality content across products.
  • Validate CAC outputs within Solventum platforms to ensure accuracy, clinical relevance, and correct mapping to coding logic.
  • Assist Sales and Marketing teams in developing collateral training materials and promotional content that highlight autosuggested and annotated clinical coding capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Solution Advisors, Project Managers and clients regarding workflow discovery, document scoping and mapping to ensure completeness and accuracy of CAC content for clients.
  • Maintain internal documentation, contribute to agile/SCRUM workflows, and manage team or project-level deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Expert Knowledge of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS: Deep understanding of disease and procedure classifications, clinical coding standards and regulatory advice.
  • CAC Subject Matter Expertise: Strong capability in annotation creation, mapping logic, natural language processing for autosuggestion, and clinical content modelling.
  • Medical Terminology and Clinical Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, surgical and non-surgical procedures.
  • Product Development and Release Management: Experience with structured release cycles, SCRUM methodologies, and cross-team coordination.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with product development, implementation, clinical consulting, and customer-facing teams.
  • Communication: Produce high-quality written and verbal communication, tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: Strong ability to analyse complex classification, natural language processing, and annotation logic. Identify any associated issues and implement improvements.
  • Independent Decision-Making: Work independently to make informed and accurate decisions related to CAC processes. Demonstrate sound judgement when evaluating CAC outputs, resolving non-routine classification or logic issues.
  • Technical Literacy: Leverage existing and emerging software tools for CAC development, including artificial intelligence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy and completeness of autosuggested and annotated clinical coding content: Measured by precision and recall reporting metrics.
  • Timeliness of regulatory and product edition delivery: Released on schedule with minimal rework.
  • Quality of CAC outputs: Measured through QA processes, peer review, audit findings, and statistical reporting.
  • Client satisfaction: Feedback collected through 360 Solution Advisors.
  • Professional development: Participation in internal programs, industry conferences, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ clinical coding experience in a diverse casemix, including in ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS 13th Edition
  • Advanced level of clinical coding proficiency.
    • Additional auditing, training and education experience and/or qualifications (desirable).
  • Relevant Health Information Management and clinical coding qualifications.
  • Eligible for full HIMAA membership.
  • Proficient computer skills, including M365 and Copilot.
